Take your dog's scent training to the next level

Hello! If you regularly train with your dog in nosework, scent work, or simply love scent games, you probably know that moment when your dog starts to "search with their eyes." Instead of analyzing the scent cone and using their nose, they look for shiny aluminum cans, unnaturally arranged tubes, or magnetic containers in the grass. In urban areas, training equipment that stands out can be a big clue. That's why we created a product that allows you to give your dog an excellent scent surprise in the field: Fake Kaiser Roll for Nosework.

A piece of discarded bread or an old roll is an absolutely natural, everyday sight on our lawns. When you hide a sample in our kaiser roll, for the dog, it will simply be another element of the environment. It won't be a clear visual signal indicating "here is the sample." This will force them to focus completely, engage their scenting skills at full throttle, and trust their nose one hundred percent. Our company testers, Szajba and Mgła, had a great puzzle during their first sessions with the kaiser roll, but thanks to that, they stopped taking shortcuts!

The fake roll has the standard size of a store-bought kaiser roll, its shape perfectly mimics the cracks in the bread, and its color imitates a baked crust. For a dog seeing it on the grass or under a bench, it simply looks like an urban landscape.

  • 🥖 Great camouflage: The shape and color scheme that do not evoke associations with standard training equipment for the dog.
  • 🕳️ Discreet holes: At the junction of the cuts on the top of the roll, we placed five small holes through which the scent smoothly escapes upwards.
  • 🌬️ Better wind work: Helps in learning precise marking of the scent source in conditions of strong distractions.

Plastic that does the job (and is easy to clean)

You probably know that natural hiding spots made at home – like hollowed branches, wooden blocks, or even dried bread – have a huge disadvantage. They absorb scent oils terribly and quickly rot, especially if you train in morning dew, mud, or during rain. After a few training sessions, such equipment often becomes suitable only for disposal.

We printed our kaiser roll from durable plastic. It is completely weatherproof and moisture-resistant. Moreover, this material does not absorb old scents as much as wood or cardboard. After training, just take the kaiser roll under the tap and wash it in warm water with a mild detergent. Once dried, it is immediately ready for a new sample – cinnamon, clove, orange, or confusing scents. No mold and no remnants from previous sessions.

Integrated Fluonose Nano+ canister system

Everything needs to be easy to use during training, which is why we hid a special threaded socket at the bottom of the roll. It is precisely matched to our miniature cans from the Fluonose Nano+ series. How does it work? You take a can, load it with a scent-soaked cotton ball, and simply screw it into the kaiser roll. The thread holds tightly, so there’s no worry that during enthusiastic marking by the dog, the can will fall out of the fake roll.

  • 🔩 Secure socket: Guarantees the safety of the scent-soaked cotton ball – the dog does not have direct access to it.
  • 🛒 Convenient shopping: The kaiser roll is sold without a can included, but on the product page, with one click, you can add from 1 to 6 empty, unscented Nano+ cans to your cart.

Create your own environmental arsenal

The kaiser roll is an excellent choice for the city, but if you often take your dog for training in the woods or on wild meadows, it's worth diversifying the scenarios. Be sure to check out our Small Scent Mushrooms for Nosework or cute toadstools. By mixing different fakes, your dog will gain immense experience working on challenging surfaces in completely different environments.

Sample training: Urban search for the "lost breakfast"

Want to test our new equipment right after unpacking the package? Try this scenario, which works perfectly in an urban square.

  1. Preparing the scent: Choose the scent you are currently working on (e.g., tea tree oil). Place a cotton ball in the Fluonose Nano+ can, and then screw it securely into the bottom of our kaiser roll.
  2. Hiding the fake: Find a place where the lying roll would not surprise anyone. It could be a patch of grass right by the park trash can or a concrete area next to a bench. If the bench has metal legs, you can use the magnet in the Nano+ can and attach the kaiser roll to the side of the leg, which will force the dog to work gently with the upper wind.
  3. Let the scent work: Wait about 10-15 minutes for the scent to start escaping through the five upper holes and create a clear scent cone for the dog.
  4. Start the search: Take the dog to the designated area on a leash and give the command to search. Observe their body language – this is an ideal test to see if the dog is actually using their nose or just scanning the area for familiar cans and tubes.
  5. Reward near the source: When the dog correctly finds the roll and performs their indication (e.g., "freezes" their nose right by the kaiser roll), reward them immediately. We guarantee that after a few such training sessions, your dog's level of focus will shoot through the roof!
