FluoNora – 30° elbow is a modular element of the scent tunnel system that allows you to change the direction of the scent channel.
Thanks to the bayonet mounts on both sides, you can quickly connect the elbow to the base, a straight section, a tee, a cap, or other FluoNora elements.
This is a great way to create more spatial, unconventional training layouts where the dog must analyze the path of the scent more closely.
FluoNora – 30° elbow is a component of the modular scent tunnel that allows changing the direction of the scent channel. With it, the FluoNora system stops being a simple tube and starts resembling a real burrow, tunnel, or branched structure where the scent can move at various angles.
The elbow has a slope of 30°, allowing a gentle change in the direction of the further part of the system without creating a sharp bend. This is very practical in nosework training, as you can build more natural, less predictable setups that are better suited to specific scenarios. Sometimes the channel can go slightly up, other times sideways, and at yet other times it can lead to a Y-junction, a blind end, or another straight section.

The 30° elbow is one of those elements that significantly increases the capabilities of the entire system. A straight section extends the channel, but it is the elbow that allows you to start building space – turning, bypassing, raising exits, and creating more challenging scent paths.
The 30° elbow allows building setups that are less obvious for the dog and much more interesting for the trainer. In classic training, the dog often works on straightforward, fairly predictable hides. FluoNora offers the possibility to take a step further – the scent can be led through several elements, change direction, and exit at a location that is not necessarily exactly where the scent source is placed.
This is a great tool for working on accuracy in marking. The dog should not guess or mark the first best element of the structure. It should calmly check the exits, analyze the scent, and indicate the place that is actually significant for it. The elbow helps create tasks where the scent source or scent path is not as obvious as in simple, flat hides.
With the elbow, you can also better utilize the space in the training room, yard, or garden. The system does not have to go in a straight line all the time. You can direct the channel sideways, slightly raise it, lead it towards an obstacle, or build a layout that the dog must circumvent and check thoroughly from different sides. This is particularly useful in dog schools, nosework clubs, and during classes where you want to quickly prepare various configurations for dogs at different levels of advancement.

You can use the elbow as a gentle bend in the channel, an element directing the scent upwards, or a way to lead the path sideways. With several elbows and straight sections, the system starts to resemble a real burrow, and each training can look different.
The FluoNora elbow has bayonet mounts on both sides. This means you can clip it into the preceding element of the system and then add another module. Assembly is quick and intuitive: you fit the element, twist it, and you can proceed to training.
This solution greatly facilitates work for trainers. During classes, it is often necessary to change the layout between different dogs, adjust the difficulty level, or quickly prepare several versions of the same exercise. The elbow allows you to do this without tools, screws, or accidentally loosening elements. The entire system retains its modular character, and you can build exactly the configuration you need for a given training.
On the elements of the FluoNora system, there are arrows indicating the direction of scent dispersion. With the elbow, this is particularly convenient, as it immediately shows which direction the channel is leading. In simple layouts, this may seem trivial, but in a larger burrow with several turns and branches, such markings help quickly orient in the entire structure.
The elbow itself is not a separate, sealed scent chamber – its main task is to redirect the channel and lead the scent further. You can use it as a through element between the base and subsequent modules, as a piece leading the scent to a blind end, or as part of a longer, more twisted layout.
Like in other elements of the FluoNora system, there is no dedicated socket for the scent canister inside the elbow. This provides greater freedom, as you are not limited to one fixed hiding place. An interesting option is to use miniature canisters Fluonose Nano+, which have a built-in magnet. By applying an additional magnet from the outside, you can attach the canister to the wall of the elbow, creating an inaccessible scent source in a less obvious location.
This way, the elbow can be not only a turn in the system but also an element of a more advanced exercise. The dog smells the scent, but the source may be located deeper, higher, or at an angle relative to the exit. This is a very good solution for learning more accurate marking and working with a scent that is not directly accessible to the dog's nose.
In a simple layout, you can clip the elbow directly into the FluoNora base and finish it with a blind end or another short section. Such a configuration already provides an interesting change of direction and allows you to lead the scent differently. In more complex layouts, the elbow can connect with straight sections, Y-junctions, and extensions, creating a spatial system that the dog must check thoroughly.
If you are already using classic accessories, such as scent chimney for nosework, the FluoNora elbow allows you to expand training with a completely different type of work. Instead of a single vertical hide, you can create a system where the scent is led through several connected elements, changes direction, and encourages the dog to analyze more closely.
The 30° elbow will be particularly useful for nosework trainers, instructors, and dog schools that want to create more varied training setups. It is an element that allows moving away from simple, linear configurations and introducing space, direction, and less obvious scent leading into training.
It will also be useful for those training at home who want to gradually expand their FluoNora. One elbow can significantly change the character of the entire configuration, and several elbows connected with straight sections provide really great possibilities for building your own training setups.
The FluoNora elbow is made of PETG, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors. It performs well in the training room, garden, on the field, in grass, moisture, or snow. Like the other elements of the system, it can be part of a burrow filled with soil, sawdust, or snow.
After training, simply shake off loose dirt from the inside and wash the element in warm water with detergent. This is convenient, especially when regularly working with many dogs, when the equipment must be not only interesting but also practical and easy to keep clean.
Note: this product includes one 30° elbow of the FluoNora system. Other elements visible in sample configurations, scent canisters, and external magnets are available separately.
