FluoNora – base of the modular scent den is the heart of the entire FluoNora system, a modular set of pipes, chambers, and branches designed for creative nosework training. This product is primarily created for trainers, clubs, and dog schools that want to build more complex scent work scenarios, but it also works well for guardians training with their dogs on their own.
The base itself can be used as an independent training accessory. You don't have to immediately build a large structure with pipes, elbows, and branches – even the basic element offers plenty of possibilities. The base has a round base with a diameter of 25 cm, and from its top, three pipes with a diameter of 10 cm extend in different directions. Each of them constitutes a separate scent chamber, as the channels are separated from each other. This allows you to prepare several different variants for your dog in one exercise: a scent, an empty chamber, a decoy, treats, or a scent carrier placed at different depths.
The FluoNora base is designed so that training does not end with a simple "find the scent." This tool allows you to build tasks where the dog must work harder with its nose, analyze several channels, and precisely indicate the source of the scent.
The FluoNora base is perfect wherever you want to diversify scent training and move away from classic cans placed on the floor. The three channels allow working on the dog's independence, accuracy in checking, and calm analysis of the scent. You can use it for exercises with beginner dogs, but it will show its greatest potential in more advanced training – especially where the dog needs to learn to precisely indicate the source of the scent hidden inside the structure.
Inside the base, there are no dedicated slots for cans or holders for samples. This is a deliberate solution that provides greater freedom of work. You can place a scent can, a cotton ball with oil, a natural scent sample, cinnamon, treats, or another carrier used during training inside. An interesting option is to use miniature cans Fluonose Nano+, which have a built-in magnet. By applying an additional magnet from the outside, you can "catch" the can against the wall of the pipe at any height, which opens up great possibilities for working on an inaccessible scent source.
This flexibility is what makes FluoNora more than just another container for nosework. You can prepare a very simple training session with one sample in one chamber, but you can also gradually complicate the exercise: change the depth of hiding, add empty channels, use decoys, work with the scent placed higher or lower, and then expand the whole with additional segments of the system. If you are already familiar with the classic scent chimney for nosework, FluoNora takes it a step further – allowing you to create more branched, spatial, and non-obvious hides.
In the simplest version, you can place the base on the floor and use only one of the three chambers. In subsequent repetitions, you change the channel, the depth of hiding, or the type of carrier. For the dog, the whole still looks similar, but the scent layout changes each time.
The base is the foundation of the entire modular scent den. Each of the three openings can be the beginning of a separate scent path. Additional system elements can be attached to the pipes: straight segments, 30° elbows, tees, extensions, and caps. All these elements allow building short, simple configurations or more complex arrangements resembling a system of dens, tunnels, and branches.
The base is stable enough for typical training. However, if you are building a larger system with many elements, you can choose a version with three aluminum legs, which are mainly useful for more complex structures, where additional support helps maintain the stability of the entire setup.
This product is particularly well-suited for nosework trainers, instructors, dog schools, and clubs that conduct regular scent work classes. The base allows for quick exercise preparation, easy difficulty level changes, and the construction of repeatable tasks for different dogs. You can use it for both group classes and individual training when you want to work on accuracy in marking, patient checking of the scent source, or calmly solving scent puzzles.
At the same time, FluoNora is not reserved solely for professionals. If you train nosework at home, enjoy experimenting, and want to give your dog something more interesting than classic containers placed on the floor, the base will be a great start. You can use it independently and then expand the system with additional modules when you feel like tackling more complex setups.
Thanks to the use of PETG, the base can also be used outdoors – on the training field, in the garden, on grass, or in snow. The entire system can be buried in soil, sawdust, or snow to prepare a more natural and less obvious task for the dog. After training, simply shake out the contents from inside and then wash the elements in warm water with detergent.
This is a significant advantage in daily training work. Nosework equipment must be not only interesting for the dog but also convenient for the human. FluoNora is designed to allow for quick scenario changes, easy cleaning of elements after training, and creating setups tailored to the level of a specific dog. From a simple exercise with one chamber to an elaborate den with several scent sources – everything depends on the configuration you build.
