That's why we created the Accordion Scent Strip – a clever tool that will teach your four-legged friend gentle, non-contact (or barely touched) marking of the find in a simple and friendly way. Say goodbye to crumpled cans and frustrated dogs!

The inspiration for this accessory came from an iconic toy from our childhood. No matter how hard your dog pushes this scent container, it will still majestically tip over and then politely return to an upright position. But what does the most work is the built-in dual feedback system!

What sets our Accordion Scent Strip apart from ordinary boxes or metal containers? Above all, the material. PETG is exceptionally resistant to weather conditions and mechanical damage. Ordinary containers often rust or absorb aromas, which can mislead the dog after a few sessions. In our Accordion Scent Strip, the scent chamber is separate, and you can easily clean the scent carrier in just a few moments. Additionally, the LED sensor can be simply unscrewed by hand at any time if you need to practice "dry"!

Accessing the inside of the toy is easy by unscrewing its top from the sturdy base. You will find a spacious scent chamber that perfectly fits our small scent can, such as the Fluonose Nano+ or another small carrier. The scent escapes directly to the dog's nose through a specially designed "chimney" where the LED sensor sits. We placed the outlet holes around the sensor at the very top.

How to use the Accordion Scent Strip in training (Sample scenario)

Not sure how to start training precise marking? It's not difficult! Below we provide a quick guide on how to use this equipment in scent detection and teach your dog the so-called "nose freeze," which means quietly and calmly freezing their nose at the sample:

Step 1: Introduction and association. Prepare the Accordion Scent Strip without any scent inside. Place it on the floor. When the dog approaches out of curiosity and gently nudges it with their nose – the red light will turn on and you will hear the bell. At that same second, say your reward cue (e.g., "Yes!" or click with a clicker) and give the dog a tasty treat. Do this a dozen times until the dog understands: "Aha! When I gently touch this black mushroom with my nose and it blinks, I get food!"
Step 2: Time for scents. Unscrew the top, place a prepared scent can (e.g., cinnamon or orange) in the chamber, and close it. Ask the dog to search. When the dog reaches the Accordion Scent Strip and nudges it to mark the find, reward them immediately after the LED lights up. The sound of the bell will serve as a secondary confirmation of a "well-placed" shot.
Step 3: Extending the time (Nose Freeze). When the dog confidently touches the device, start delaying the reward a little. Wait a fraction of a second after the LED blinks. If the dog holds their nose at the chimney outlet, reward them generously! Over time, the Accordion Scent Strip will help you develop beautiful, long sniffing right at the source, without scratching, barking, or scattering samples all over the training mat.
