Fluonose Underground Pro is the answer to the needs of dog trainers and carers who want to take their scent training to the next level. This container is specifically designed to conceal scent underground, allowing for realistic, challenging and fully controlled training scenarios - exactly the kind that dogs encounter in advanced nosework and utility detection.
The container has a conical shape with a large, aggressive thread that allows it to be screwed into the ground securely – without any play and without the risk of accidental removal. This allows you to work in both soft ground and more difficult conditions, such as damp ground or snow.
Fluonose Underground Pro does not have adjustable scent intensity – and that's exactly the point. You control the intensity of the scent stimulus through training: by the depth of burial, the type of substrate, the amount of scent material and the ageing time. This approach is fully in line with the methodology of nosework and utility detection training. However, if you would like to have additional scent adjustment, you can place a Fluonose Nano+ canister in the container, which has a built-in scent intensity adjustment.
The interior of the container has been designed to work perfectly with the Fluonose Nano+ scent can, which fits inside with a slight gap. However, there is nothing to prevent you from placing a scent sample directly inside.

There are three special slots around the circumference of the container that allow you to use an additional screw-in handle (handle not included). Handle:
At the top of the container there is a cap with a non-through hole in which you can place a coloured marker (markers are not included in the set). The marker allows you to quickly locate the buried container, and thanks to its rubber construction, it is safe even if someone steps on it.
Fluonose Underground Pro is made of durable, weather-resistant PET-G plastic. It can be easily washed in warm water with detergent, which is crucial when working with different scents.
One of the classic uses of underground containers in nosework is to teach dogs to work with scents that penetrate layers of ground. The container with the scent sample is buried at a shallow depth, ensuring that the dog cannot see the hiding place.
At the initial stage, the container is placed shallowly in a homogeneous substrate, allowing the dog to calmly locate the source of the scent. As training progresses, the depth of burial is increased, the type of substrate (earth, moist soil, snow) is changed, and the time from burial to the start of work is increased.
Such exercises teach the dog to analyse the scent trail, work with residual scent and precisely mark the source location – without accidentally "digging up" the area.
