The single piece of Tracker's Pizza looks like a colorful pizza slice with toppings. Once placed in the socket, the can protrudes a few millimeters above the surface of the piece, just like the colorful toppings on the pizza. This is important because, on one hand, the can visually "disappears" among the elements, while on the other hand, it can still be easily grasped by fingers and removed after the exercise. To start, prepare one scent sample and place it in the Fluonose Nano+ can. Set the scent intensity so that the task is clear for the dog, especially if you are just starting. Insert the can into the socket and place the pizza piece on a calm surface, such as on the floor or training mat.
The first repetitions can be very simple. Let the dog approach the piece, allow it to check the element with its nose, and reward calm, conscious interest in the scent source. The goal is not for the dog to chaotically sniff the item, but to begin to understand that the scent in the can is the most important.
When the dog is doing well with the simple exercise, you can increase the difficulty. Move the piece to another spot in the room, place it against a wall, among other neutral items, or outside, for example, on the terrace.
